Restless and Chess-less? Bam, Wham, Figjam!
A brief interlude from my Peruvian reports. Many of you complain that my blog does not have enough chess in it (an equal number regularly complains that it contains too much chess). Rather than pander to your wishes, I’ll react as any good politician should: deflect, deflect, deflect.
Four young Aussie guys, Andrew Brown, Moulthun Ly, Junta Ikeda and Fedja Zulfic, have started a new chess blog to etch their upcoming international chess adventures into the virtual pages of blogesphere history. Check out Figjam Chess: http://figjamchess.blogspot.com/ .
From what they’ve done so far, it seems this is going to have far more chess in it than, well, my rantings – and even some semi-serious chess analysis. So for those of you craving some actual attention from Caissa, it’s worth a look.
And these guys are decent players, too. Three titles between them, and the four of them have a more than respectable record against Australia’s finest, including myself. (Recall that Andrew crushed me in the last round of this year’s Oceania Zonal Championships to grab the IM title.) Big things could come from this whirlwind world adventure – chess or otherwise.
And if that isn’t enough to tickle your fancy, I’d at least recommend checking out the most recent post for an almost lifelike photoshopped imitation of international arbiter Charles Zworestine. Involving a combination of a turkey, a geek, a ‘noob’ and a camel, it’s worth the click alone.
