Answers delayed; Fowl play; Grinchy Karma wrist-slapping…and a puzzle
So clearly I couldn’t decide on a title.
As Fitzy has correctly pointed out in the comments, I am on a farm in Darwin and have limited access to civilisation. Rather than blogging, my days have been spent cleaning chicken and peacock poo, grooming horses, cuttng bamboo, and killing cane toads. (Literally, not state-of-origin-metaphorically, of course. And for those of you still worried, I have killed at least as many cockroaches.)
What’s more, it seems my Grinchiness has been noticed and punished by my old foe, Santa Karma. It seems I’ve developed a rather nasty case of RSI in my right wrist (yes, insert witty insult here). Long work days and probably bad mouse posture have rendered me surprisingly incapacitated when it comes to computer work, and this is the first time I’ve been able to put together a post.
One day, I will find out where Karma lives. And pour chicken poo down her chimney.
As such (and also due to the time spent on farming activities – see above), I still haven’t marked all the quiz answers. But chillax, dear readers: I will fight through the pain (and by that I mean the fourth Ashes cricket test, not my wrist) and get it done by tomorrow sometime. Depending, of course, on whether the chickens decided to have Mexican for dinner last night.
In the meantime, while I have been isolated from the cyber and chess world in cyclonic Darwin, I have composed a little chess puzzle as a Christmas present to you all. (Well I’m a Grinch, what did you expect? Pudding?) It’s pretty easy, so hopefully it should tide you through til tomorrow. White to move and draw.
